Secretary-Treasurer Robert Harper announces his retirement

Robert Harper, Secretary-Treasurer for the Cowichan Valley School District, has announced his retirement effective October 31, 2015.

Mr. Harper joined the School District in March 2009, after a long career in the local government field. After a steep learning curve in “eduspeak”, he quickly established himself as a highly respected and reflective leader in the District whose wisdom and visionary approach contributed greatly to the success of the organization.

“I’m looking forward to a change of pace,” Bob says, “but I will miss the people I’ve worked with these last six and a half years.”

Candace Spilsbury, Chair of the Board, states, “The Board highly values Mr. Harper’s expertise in finance, operations and human resources. Bob was a solid, calming influence in this district during his tenure and always provided us with sound advice. What the Board has come to admire is that Mr. Harper truly cares about education and that he puts students first in all his decisions and his recommendations for action. We truly thank him for his dedication, his contribution and his kind, calm, good humoured style of leadership in the District. We wish him a wonderful retirement!”
