    Technology Skills and Attitudes for Success

    Educators design, implement, and assess learning experiences to improve student learning and engagement; enrich professional practice; and provide positive models for students, colleagues, and the community.


    1. Design Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessment


    Educators plan and design authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating curriculum with contemporary technology tools by

    a. designing curricular experiences to incorporate digital tools and resources

    b. developing technology-infused learning environments that enable students to become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress

    c. adapting student learning activities to address a variety of learning needs through the use of digital tools and resources

    d. providing students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments that provide data to inform instruction, inform learning and evaluate progress.


    2. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity


    Educators use their knowledge of curriculum, instruction and technology to advance student creativity and innovation by

    a. promoting innovative thin king and inventiveness

    b. engaging students in authentic problems using digital tools and resources

    c. promoting student reflection using collaborative technology tools

    d. modeling knowledge construction and creative thinking by engaging in face-to-face and virtual learning with students, colleagues, and the broader community


    3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning


    Educators exhibit knowledge, skills and work processes that are representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society by

    a. demonstrating fluency in the application of technology

    b. collaborating and communicating with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation

    c. modeling effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and integrate information resources to support research and learning.


    4. Promote Digital Citizenship and Responsibility


    Educators understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in an evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their professional practices by

    a. promoting online safety, responsible social interactions and digital etiquette

    b. modeling and teaching legal, and ethical use of digital information and technology (FOIPPA)

    c. addressing the diverse needs of all learners by using learner-centered strategies and providing access to appropriate digital tools and resources

    d. developing cultural understanding and global awareness using digital communication and collaborative tools


    5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership


    Educators continuously improve their professional practice and exhibit leadership in their classroom, school, and professional community by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and resources by

    a. participating in local and global learning communities through shared decision-making

    b. embracing a vision of technology infusion

    c. reflecting on current research and professional practice e to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools in support student learning
