The Minister of Education announced today that School District No. 79 (Cowichan Valley) will receive $70,670,000 for the 2011 - 2012 school year.

"The Ministry has extended the funding protection for another year so we will have the same amount of money to operate next year as we have this year," said Candace Spilsbury, Chair of the Board of Education. "We are pleased that the advocacy this Board undertook to impact the government on the importance of funding the education of our young people was successful."
