If you want to watch elementary students use critical, creative and problem-solving skills in Science Engineering and Drama, just visit the school district’s annual challenge events for intermediate and primary students. For the 11th year, hundreds of students from across the district competed recently in small teams to see who could build a strong, high spaghetti and mini-marshmallow tower; perform an improvisational “green” infomercial; build a tall tower using 10 sheets of paper, a meter of tape and a straw; or present a short original play based on three plus one little pigs and a pushy wolf.
