News Release - Announcement of Principal and Vice-Principal assignments

School District No. 79 (Cowichan Valley) is pleased to announce the following assignments effective August 1, 2011.

PRINCIPAL OF GEORGE BONNER MIDDLE SCHOOL

Ms. Heidi Grant has been assigned to the position of Principal of George Bonner Middle School. She is currently the Principal of Discovery Elementary School and was previously Vice-Principal at George Bonner Middle School and Elsie Miles Elementary School. Ms. Grant has been an administrator in the district for 11 years.

VICE-PRINCIPAL OF GEORGE BONNER MIDDLE SCHOOL

Ms. Nicole Boucher has been assigned to the position of Vice-Principal of George Bonner Middle School. She has been Vice-Principal of Quamichan Middle School and was previously Vice-Principal at Lake Cowichan Secondary School and George Bonner Middle School. Ms. Boucher has been a teacher and an administrator in the district for 12 years.

DISTRICT VICE-PRINCIPAL OF ABORIGINAL EDUCATION

Ms. Denise Augustine has been assigned to the position of District Vice-Principal of Aboriginal Education. She is currently the Curriculum Coordinator of Aboriginal Education and has been a teacher in the district for 10 years.

TEMPORARY VICE-PRINCIPAL OF INTERNATIONAL PROGRAM

Ms. Judy Hershman has been assigned to the position of temporary Vice-Principal of International Program for the 2011/2012 school year. She is currently a Vice-Principal at Cowichan Secondary School and was previously Vice-Principal at Adult/Continuing Education Program. Ms. Hershman has been a teacher and an administrator in the district for 28 years.

VICE-PRINCIPAL OF DRINKWATER ELEMENTARY

Mr. Ian Zibin has been assigned to the position of Vice-Principal of Drinkwater Elementary School. He is currently the Vice-Principal of Chemainus Elementary Community School. Mr. Zibin has been a teacher and an administrator in the district for 11 years.

VICE-PRINCIPAL OF ECOLE DUNCAN ELEMENTARY

Ms. Lisa Leclerc has been assigned to the position of Vice-Principal of Ecole Duncan Elementary School. She is currently a teacher at Ecole Duncan Elementary. Ms. Leclerc has been a teacher in the district for 4 years.
