    About Us

    Lake Cowichan Secondary School

Lake Cowichan Secondary School is located in the scenic town of Lake Cowichan and serves the educational needs of approximately 360 students in grades 6 through 12 with two academic programs. Students in grades 6-8 are enrolled in our middle school housed on the second floor of the main building.

Middle school students have a closed campus, learn and develop social responsibility within their advisory groupings, and sample secondary electives through an exploratory cycle.

Students in grades 9-12 are enrolled in our secondary school program housed on the main floor. Secondary students have an open campus, and select their courses from a broad program list augmented by a variety of distributed learning options, as well as practical and fine arts programs all located in a first rate facility. Extra-curricular teams include volleyball, basketball, and soccer.

Lunchtime activities are a key part of LCSS life. The middle school students enjoy both unstructured time and organized games daily on the upper campus, as well as movies in the theatre and various other indoor activities when it rains. The secondary school students enjoy their intramural leagues and extra-curricular team practices in the main gym, and look forward to this year’s student council lunchtime game show events.
