I can choose images and create audio files to represent the connections I make to a piece of writing.

Technology Skills:

• I can create sound files in Audacity and export them as mp3 files.
• I can search for suitable images on the internet.
• I can capture images using Grab and downloading from the Internet.
• I can can import my sound and image files into a Pages document.
• I can create a background in Pages.
• I can format text and images.

Process:

Part A: Creating an audio file with Audacity

Students will record 3 audio files and export them as mp3 files. They will save them in their Music folder.

Part B: Creating the background in a Pages' Document

1. Open Pages

2. Change the view to 75% (bottom left corner of window)

3. Open the Inspector (the 'i' button on the top tool bar) - and select the first tab

4. Choose Page Setup on this tab - select the Page Orientation (landscape or portrait)

5. From the Shapes menu - select the 'square' shape - it will appear in the middle of your page

6. Drag the 'square' to the top left of the page - and stretch it out to fill the page

7. Select the 5th tab of the Inspector - the Graphics Inspector - change the fill!
