Tansor
is a K-6 school of 206 students. It is located 10 minutes
from downtown Duncan in a quiet, rural setting. The large
treed area provides many opportunities for our students to
explore, be involved in creative play, and develop a healthy
attitude of respect and caring for the environment.
The school was built in 1957 on land that was donated by a
local farmer, Mr. Evans. In the 60’s and 70’s
there were a number of additions with a major renovation completed
in 2001.
At lunch time and at recess you can find students actively
engaged in cooperative games, practices, playing on two adventure
playgrounds or being creative in the wooded area.
We
have a very strong fine arts and leadership component with
students actively involved in our regularbi-weekly assemblies
as well as many special day assemblies and musical productions.
Our partnership with the community provides many opportunities
for Community agencies,
( Public Health, RCMP, Fire Dept. etc. ) to help us focus
on leadership, health and safety.
