Principal's Message
I
would like to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning
students to Cowichan Secondary School. At Cowichan Secondary
School we are very proud of our school -proud to be a Thunderbird.
We are proud of our history, proud of our academic excellence,
proud of our fine and performing arts programs, proud of our
athletic teams, but most especially, proud of our student
leadership and citizenship. At Cowichan Secondary School we
emphasize not only academic achievement but also social responsibility.
At Cowichan Secondary School we want all of our students to
have the ability to know right from wrong and act according
to your conscience - and not mere convenience.
Each
of you brings to Cowichan Secondary School a unique combination
of energies, talents and interests, something special to contribute
to our school community. Our programs have been organized to
provide you with opportunities to use all your abilities as
you strive for excellence.
Over the course of this year you will find that you will be
asked to reach, to stretch, to grow, to take safe risks. If
you do so, you will discover that your education will be more
rewarding, that you will enjoy a greater feeling of self-worth
and that this will be a year you will never forget.
